Job summary

Severn Trent Water is seeking a Standards & Assurance Manager to join our Waste Water Recycling Team in Shropshire. You will lead the development and maintenance of high-quality, compliant documentation and drive consistency across the region.

Acting as a trusted technical expert, you’ll challenge operational teams to meet regulatory and H&S standards, monitor performance, carry out assurance checks and implement continuous improvement to strengthen long-term compliance and safety outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience driving regulatory compliance and improving operational results.
• Solid technical knowledge within Customer Operations and CDM/contractor management.
• Ability to influence at all levels and drive a culture of compliance.
• Ability to simplify complex regulations into practical processes and behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Lead activity to improve regulatory compliance across Wastewater Recycling and develop robust documentation.
• Monitor performance, report on compliance, and carry out assurance checks across the region.
• Challenge and support operational teams to address risk and underperformance.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce failures and strengthen long-term compliance.
• Promote best practice and strengthen safety and environmental outcomes across the region.

We are looking for a Standards & Assurance Manager to join our Waste Water Recycling Team in Shropshire!

You’ll be at the heart of improving regulatory compliance across Wastewater Recycling, bringing a clear, consistent approach to standards, procedures and systems of work across the region. Working closely with Team Managers and subject matter experts, you’ll develop and maintain high-quality, compliant documentation, ensuring everything is robust, controlled and aligned with legislation.

Acting as a trusted technical expert, you’ll support and challenge operational teams to meet regulatory and Health & Safety standards, while building their understanding and capability. You’ll monitor performance, report on compliance, carry out assurance checks and step in where needed to address risk or underperformance.

With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you’ll lead activity to reduce operational failures, embed best practice and strengthen long-term compliance—making a real impact on safety, performance and regulatory outcomes across the region.

A natural communicator, you can simplify complex regulations into clear, practical ways of working, while using data, root cause analysis and performance insight to drive continuous improvement.
