Job summary

Severn Trent is looking for a Non Infra Senior Technician to join the Waste Water Recycling team around the Coleshill area, supporting the team manager in day-to-day operation of water treatment sites.

You’ll contribute to maintaining assets, safeguarding regulatory compliance and delivering cost-effective, high-quality water services across the local area, with a 37-hour week on a standby rota. Driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Experience in water treatment and maintenance in the area.
• Strong IT skills including SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience supervising or leading teams is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Team Manager and planner with on-site operations and third-party access.
• Organise chemical deliveries, contractors, audits, and services.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and promote H&S and quality practices.
• Provide cover for the Team Manager when needed.

We are looking for a new Non Infra Senior Technician to work within our Waste Water Recycling team in and around Coleshill area. Where you’llsupport the team manager in managing the day-to-day operation of our water treatment sites and supporting the wider area.

The role is pivotal in assisting the team to meet tough local and function wide targets around maintenance, quality, continuous supply, safety and cost control.

In your role you will have the opportunity to work with the maintenance and operational team embracing curiosity and learn new skills outside of your ‘day job’.

Some Of Your Other Key Accountabilities Will Include

• Assist the Team Manager and planner with controlling operations and access for third party work on site
• Organising chemical deliveries, contractors, audits, media changes, interventions and services
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
• Focus on improving asset availability
• Ensure consistent use and application of standardised practices and procedures for the management of H&S risk and quality problems, with full adherence to and promotion of the Company principles.
• Manage customer issues in the area.
• Provide cover (as and when appropriate) for the Team Manager.

With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working on a standby rota.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone with high level experience in water treatment and supply as well as maintenance, electrical or instrumentation work in this area, however, we encourage applications where you have the transferable skillset to match for the role and can hit the ground running.

We want someone who has a positive attitude, adapts easily to change, enjoys learning new things and likes to see things through from start to finish.

The below would be essential to being successful in this role:

• Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding organisational skills
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a variety of audiences.
• A strong understanding and experience of H&S management including managing contractors and suppliers would be beneficial.
• In addition, having supervisory or management experience and exhibit relevant leadership behaviours would be highly desirable.

Travel to sites will be essential for this role and therefore a full UK driving license will be required.
