Job summary

Forrest Recruitment is recruiting an HR Manager for Manchester City Centre. The role offers £40,000-£45,000 DOE, with flexible hours (Mon-Fri) and options for full- or part-time (minimum 3 days).

You’ll report to the MD, own HR processes, and shape the function in a growing business. Key duties include advising managers, handling employee relations, updating policies, ensuring UK employment law compliance, supporting recruitment, onboarding, payroll changes and reporting.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 or above is essential.
• Minimum 3–4 years proven HR management/generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, GDPR, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Confident handling employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, capability).
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
• High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional HR advice to managers and employees.
• Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary and grievances.
• Draft, review and maintain HR policies, contracts and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment law and HR processes.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance and leaver processes.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR systems.
• Assist payroll changes, right-to-work checks and HR reporting.
• Collaborate with senior management on workforce planning.
• Support employee engagement, wellbeing and development initiatives.
• Coach and develop the HR Apprentice with regular guidance.
