Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead external engagement with MP's and Councils, on a range of issues, including Thames Water's biggest ever investment programme to improve performance, across the capital.

You will manage and deliver political and other stakeholder engagement activities across London to protect and improve the company’s reputation.

This is an integral role, accountable for delivering a programme of engagement ensure MPs and senior councillors in the region are aware of Thames Water’s key messages. You will also be responsible for responding to queries from stakeholders, ensuring appropriate attendance at key meetings and identifying opportunities to promote the company’s turnaround plan.

What you will be doing as Stakeholder Engagement Manager

  • Function as main point of contact in TW for senior political stakeholders on local issues
  • Build upon existing and identify new political relationships
  • Provide insights and advice on effective engagement to senior leaders
  • Support the incident communication function to keep stakeholders informed
  • Provide clear leadership to the rest of the London Stakeholder Engagement Team
What you should bring to the role
  • Significant experience engaging with stakeholders, particularly within local government
  • Able to demonstrate clear leadership experience
  • Experience advising colleagues, up to and including at the Executive level, on successful engagement
  • Experience of external engagement, ideally in a regulated sector, coupled with a strong understanding of our external environment and the positions of key stakeholders
  • Excellent written communication skills, including writing for a variety of channels and audiences.
  • Very strong verbal communication skills, including presenting to internal and external audiences.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and challenge accepted approaches
  • Effective collaboration and the ability to work well with others from diverse disciplines

  • Competitive salary from £45,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience
