Job title: Publisher Engagement Manager

Location: Remote

More than 2,000 universities around the world use the Kortext platform. In addition, we host over 2 million digital books from over 4,500 publishers, providing students and academics with a seamless connection to the required course content embedded with innovative study tools to increase engagement and accessibility.

Our Role

The Publisher Engagement Manager works collaboratively and cross-functionally with publisher services, partnership sales, marketing, and operational teams to manage key publisher relationships. The account manager keeps publishers up to date with the latest Kortext products and solutions, provides training to publisher teams, and identifies opportunities to maximize commercial opportunities within existing institutional business.

The role is home-based with the expectation of travel to monthly/quarterly on-site customer review meetings if required.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage creation of institutional opportunities within Salesforce of publisher-related products e.g., Adopt, Publisher Hosted, and Publisher Collection business.
  • Work with publishers and finance to ensure accurate and timely Adopt reporting and billing.
  • Collaborate with publishers to identify advance publication information for ingestion into Kortext.
  • Engage with publishers regarding pricing and licensing for institutional deals to maximize Kortext coverage and revenue.
  • Assist the commercial team with analysis of publisher data.
  • Coordinate publisher and Kortext marketing initiatives to drive engagement at institutions.
  • Promote and implement Kortext wraparound tools and services to support publisher’s institutional business.
  • Provide opportunity leads for revenue growth to the partnership team.
  • Deliver training sessions on Kortext products and solutions.
  • Assist publishers with supporting their institutional customers post-adoption.

  • Strong data skills (Excel, Power BI) and relationship management experience.
  • Academic publisher experience in a sales, product marketing, or account management role.
  • Ownership mentality, self-directed with a balanced sense of urgency.
  • Comfortable communicating and presenting to a variety of stakeholders and seniority levels.
  • Maintain all customer data and interactions in Salesforce, generate reports and metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree or directly related year-for-year experience.
  • 4 years account management experience.

Office close to the beach

Our Office is situated locally to the beach. In 2022, we held our Kortext summer party at the beach, and it was an excellent setting for our remote and local staff to connect.

Following Covid, we adapted to the times, offering remote/hybrid positions, allowing us to source talent outside Bournemouth and expand our business.

Annual salary reviews

We have yearly salary reviews, with a mid-year interim review to track your progress. This is based on meeting/exceeding your objectives and being rewarded with a salary increase.

We start at 26 days of holiday plus eight bank holidays, with an opportunity to increase to 28 days after five years!
