Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to drive the technical vision for Robinhood Chain, Tokenization Engine, and the Wallet. You will design, build, and operate core services while remaining hands-on to guide complex implementations and set engineering quality standards.

You will mentor engineers, elevate technical practices, and advocate for reliability, observability, and security across the platform, leveraging AI tooling to maximize output across teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale, distributed systems.
• Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Expertise in backend development using Go, Python, or Java.
• 3+ years leading large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams.
• Mentored engineers and raised technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and execution for Robinhood Chain, the Tokenization Engine, and the Robinhood Wallet.
• Design, build, and operate the core services powering Robinhood Chain, the Tokenization Engine, and the Robinhood Wallet.
• Remain hands-on by writing production code and leading complex implementations.
• Improve developer practices and adopt latest AI tooling to maximize engineering output.
• Drive reliability, correctness, observability, and security.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through design reviews and leadership.
• Influence platform direction with cross-team alignment.
