Job summary

Samsara is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to help turn growing Telematics products into major businesses. You will work directly with customers to understand needs, design scalable solutions, and lead technical decisions across engineering teams in a flexible remote-friendly environment.

The role emphasizes shipping high-impact features with reliability and quality. You will pair with Product and Design to drive architecture, improve adoption, and mentor engineers while owning critical paths

Qualifications

Experience shipping customer-facing products.
Strong product judgement with evidence-based decisions.
Deep hands-on software engineering ability and production systems experience.
Experience scaling products and the systems behind them.
Technical leadership across team boundaries and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers and customer-facing teams to understand unmet needs and opportunities.
Lead end-to-end initiatives from discovery to production rollout and iteration.
Write and ship code across services, APIs and experiences as needed.
Set technical direction and align teams to deliver it with pragmatic architecture choices.
Own production quality: correctness, reliability, performance and safe rollouts.
Mentor engineers and improve delivery by sharing context and decisions.
