Zusammenfassung

Wellcome Sanger Institute, Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, seeks a Staff Scientist (Fixed term 6 months) to lead histology and spatial transcriptomics wet lab work. You will manage sample preparation, embedding, fixation, and tissue sectioning, and guide image analysis for projects across the Institute.

You will train others, review SOPs, and contribute to publications while balancing routine and exploratory research in a collaborative environment.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Biology, Biomedical, or an interdisciplinary field.
• Experience in histology and histopathology.
• Experience with image analysis tools and approaches.
• Experience in delivering training.
• Experience leading projects with publications or presentations.

Aufgaben

• Lead daily lab work for histology and spatial transcriptomics pipelines.
• Coordinate with the Vento team and provide histological expertise across Institute projects.
• Train team members in sample processing methods and SOPs.
• Oversee experimental and image analysis work and set project targets.
• Contribute to supervision of PhD students and postdocs.
