PhysicsX Ltd. is a UK-based AI-driven physics platform building scalable, reliable infrastructure for industrial-scale engineering workloads. The Staff Software Engineer – SRE and Core Infra will own the multi-cloud infra stack, from cluster governance to GPU driver management, across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The role emphasizes reliability, security, and developer experience. Based in London (Hybrid), you’ll work with Terraform, Crossplane, Kubernetes, and modern tooling to ensure

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production Kubernetes
• Hands-on Crossplane design and operation
• Terraform at scale with CI integration
• Multi-cloud and on-premises infra experience
• Designing single- and multi-tenant Kubernetes
• Secrets management with dynamic provisioning
• Knowledge of GPU drivers and accelerated compute
• Ability to write lightweight Operators in Go/Python

Responsibilities

• Own design and delivery of core infra across cloud and on‑prem
• Operate Kubernetes clusters for single and multi-tenant workloads
• Define infrastructure provisioning with Crossplane and Terraform modules
• Manage secrets provisioning, rotation and access control
• Maintain GPU driver configurations and compute pools
• Design cluster networking, Istio, and ingress strategies
• Develop lightweight Kubernetes Operators for lifecycle tasks
• Set SLOs and lead incident response
• Collaborate on governance, policies and security standards
• Uphold engineering standards across the platform
