Job description

Position Details

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse within the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) at the Royal Hospital for Children. The CDU is a 19-bed receiving unit for children up to age 16, accepting patients directly from the emergency department, GP referrals, and clinics across various specialties. The unit operates 24/7 on a rotational day/night shift pattern. Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

Candidate Requirements
  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  4. Ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care to patients with varying dependencies.
  5. Capability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Sound clinical assessment skills.
  7. Desirable: Intravenous medication certification.
  8. Experience working in an acute setting and the ability to lead and motivate a team are necessary.
  9. Post-registration experience is desirable but not essential.
