Job Description:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

The position involves rotational day/night shifts. Please note, the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

We are seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) at the Royal Hospital for Children. CDU is a 19-bed unit for children up to age 16, receiving patients from the emergency department, GPs, and clinics across specialties. The unit operates 24/7. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, work well within a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate ongoing professional development. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care, prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess sound clinical assessment skills. An intravenous medication certificate is desirable but not essential. Experience in an acute setting, along with leadership and motivational skills, is necessary. Post-registration experience is desirable but not essential.
