NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, and a wider population of 2.2 million including regional and national services.

The position offers a rotational day/night shift pattern. Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 staff nurse within the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) at the Royal Hospital for Children. CDU is a 19-bed unit for children up to age 16, receiving patients directly from the emergency department, GPs, and clinics across specialties. The unit operates 24/7. The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work well within a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate ongoing professional development. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care, prioritizing workload in a fast-paced environment, and possessing sound clinical assessment skills. An intravenous medication certificate is desirable but not essential. Experience in acute settings, with leadership and motivation skills, is necessary. Post-registration experience is preferred but not mandatory.
