The shift pattern for this position is rotational day/night. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse within the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) at the Royal Hospital for Children. CDU is a 19-bed receiving unit for children up to age 16, accepting patients directly from the emergency department, GPs, and clinics across various specialties. The unit operates 24/7.
The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate ongoing professional development. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based, patient and family-centered care, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Clinical assessment skills are essential; an intravenous medication certificate is desirable but not essential. Experience in an acute setting and leadership qualities are necessary. Post-registration experience is preferred but not essential.
