Staff Nurse - Rain Forest - Grimsby

We have an exciting opportunity for a paediatric nurse to work within our nursing team on the Rainforest Ward in Grimsby. The nursing staff on Rainforest Ward support and care for infants, children and young people aged 0-16 years with acute medical and surgical problems, chronic and complex health conditions, life limiting conditions and having elective surgery.

We support children having day case procedures and work closely with the Children's Specialist Nurses, Children Community Nurses and nursing staff in the Children's Outpatient Department.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and flexible to support the team of paediatric nurses and doctors on the ward; working with the multi-professional teams to ensure children receive the best care, promoting their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

In return you will have a robust induction package including orientation to the Trust.

You will be expected to work Day and Night shifts 24/7. Shift patterns are 0700-1930 and 1900-0730.

You will be supported by the ward manager and senior nurses on the ward.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
  • Diploma in Nursing Child Branch or Registered Sick Children's Nurse.
  • Qualified mentor (ENB 998 or mentorship award or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Evidence of Post Registration development in the relevant specialty.

  • Minimum six months post registration experience in relevant specialty.

Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 a year per annum pro rata.
