Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our team within the inpatient Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) service at Victoria Hospice.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver and support holistic care to patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses.
2. Work within a 9-bedded inpatient ward providing specialist palliative care.
3. Work over 3 days/nights and weekends, with potential to work in other areas within the health and social care partnership.
4. Apply for and become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Significant previous experience in a medical/surgical post.
• Understanding of caring for palliative patients.
• Competent in syringe driver, venepuncture, cannulation, central line and drain management, and catheterisation.

Additional Requirements:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
• Familiarity with NHS Fife documentation and policies.
• Legally entitled to work in the UK or Ireland.

Additional Information:

The salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
