Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registered nurse to join Heybridge Ward at Broomfield Hospital for a 12-month secondment post. You will provide in-patient care across colorectal, urology, general surgery, and post-ITU/HDU patients.

You will work within the MDT, develop skills, and undergo staff development. Applicants must be NMC registered and have acute surgical experience. OSCE/CBT sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• NMC registered as a nurse.
• Previous surgical exposure in an acute setting.
• Experience in NHS acute care environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based patient care on Heybridge Ward.
• Organise and deliver individualised care addressing physical, social, and psychological needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multi-disciplinary team to ensure accurate care.
• Support Senior Charge Nurse to maintain high standards and dignity for patients.
• Contribute to nursing practice development and participate in audits and improvement activities.
• Supervise health care assistants and learners; assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans.
