What you will do:

We have exciting opportunity for nurses to join our renal unit team within Ayrshire and Arran. The posts will be rotational posts and the staff members will work day shift in the University hospitals of Crosshouse and Ayr.

As a registered General Nurse working within the renal unit setting you will gain experience in all aspects of caring for a chronic renal patient and carrying out their renal replacement therapy.

The renal unit offers a commitment to lifelong learning and the candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development through the education programme developed by the renal practice development nurse.

You have to be involved in research and development and maintaining best practice and need to be able to show evidence of personal development.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Knowledge and understanding of the role of the renal unit staff nurse is essential. Experience of working in a dialysis unit and or working within Ayrshire and Arran is desirable.

Good manual dexterity is essential as the successful candidate will be inserting dialysis needles and working with permanent lines and setting up dialysis machines.

Hours:

1 position - 23.7 hours per week, Permanent

1 position - 30 hours per week, Fixed term until 02/03/2026

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

UK driving licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
