Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a Staff Nurse for Kestrel Ward, a Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient unit in Abergele, North Wales. The post offers opportunities to work within a dynamic MDT alongside psychiatry, psychology and family/art therapy, focusing on care for young people aged 11–17 with complex needs.

Experience with young people is welcome but not essential; willingness to learn and develop therapeutic skills is valued.

Qualifications

Kestrel ward is a Tier 4 In-patient CAMHS Adolescent Unit which provides treatment for young people aged 11-17 years old with a range of with complex mental health needs and risks that cannot be managed in the community. The unit is based at the North Wales Adolescent Service in Abergele- North Wales and operates alongside an Intensive community support team and Virtual eating disorder service to support the young people of North Wales.

Job Overview

Kestrel ward is a Tier 4 In-patient CAMHS Adolescent Unit which provides treatment for young people aged 11-17 years old with a range of with complex mental health needs and risks that cannot be managed in the community. The unit is based at the North Wales Adolescent Service in Abergele- North Wales and operates alongside an Intensive community support team and Virtual eating disorder service to support the young people of North Wales. We encourage applications from RMNs, RNCs and RNLD both newly qualified and those with experience looking to specialise or broaden their scope of practice. We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and forward- thinking staff nurse available to work full or part time to within Kestrel ward. Prior experience of working with young people is not required, however a willingness to learn and develop the therapeutic skills needed is key. For successful candidates there will be opportunities for further training and professional development, in line with the complex needs of the service. Staff wellbeing and support is an important part of the NWAS ethos and the ward offers its team twice weekly staff support sessions as a group, as well as individual line management and clinical supervision. Essential criteria

• Registered Mental Health Nurse RN3 First Level , Sub part 1, or/and Registered Nurse Learning Disability or Paediatric Nurse.

Desirable criteria

• Up dated mandatory training.
• Qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
