Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing and evidence of post registration learning or equivalent experience.

• ENB 998 Teaching and Assessing course or equivalent.
• Child protection training at level 3.
• Post graduate Diploma Qualification or equivalent level of knowledge experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and monitor patient care.
• Teach/train junior staff, support workers and untrained staff in health, education and social care settings to meet the child’s needs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the children’s community Nursing Team Children’s Nurse to provide care for children in the community setting with acute/chronic health care needs.

Main duties of the job

The post will be allocated their own case load and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of patient care. In addition to this you will be responsible for teaching/training of junior staff, support workers and untrained staff within health, education and social care settings to meet the child’s needs and to ensure continuity of care

• Ability to communicate with children and families in relevant language
• Ability to work without supervision and take charge/responsibility regularly in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility
