Staff CPU Design Engineer

European Tech Recruit are working closely with a leading semiconductor company, based in Cambridge, who are looking for a talented Staff CPU Design Engineer to join their team.

Your role will be to define and build hardware RTL designs for low-power and area efficiency, to write and review documentation, and to provide planning, tracking, and reporting in order to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of CPU IP.

Requirements:

• Hands-on proficiency with System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL HDL for RTL design.
• Expertise in synthesizable design that achieves area, frequency, and power targets; ability to make judgments on functionality and performance trade-offs.
• Track record of writing specifications and documentation describing complex designs.
• Capacity to own all stages of a project, from start to completion: concept, specification, implementation, and testing support.
• Proven technical and/or team leadership skills.
• Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs.

Desirable experience:

• Working knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
• Mentoring team members.
• Knowledge of scripting e.g., Python, Perl, or Unix shell scripting.
• Knowledge of assembly (preferably ARM), C/C++, and/or hardware verification e.g., SystemVerilog.
