Overview

Pragmatic Semiconductor is revolutionising semiconductor fabrication with ultra-low-cost, flexible integrated circuit (FlexIC) technology that makes it quick and easy to embed intelligence almost anywhere. With rapid cycle times that substantially accelerate time to market, our foundry provides high-volume fabrication at a fraction of the cost of silicon, and with significantly lower environmental impact.

It's an exciting time to join us as we develop our next generation of products. We are currently seeking a Senior IC Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing analogue integrated circuits. They will use in-depth knowledge of circuit design to create new devices and contribute significantly to the technical direction of the company. The successful candidate will be a team player who can work well with colleagues in other departments and has an emphasis on RF, analogue and mixed-signal design. The role may have some line management responsibilities. The Analog team is an integral part of our larger IC Design team, which includes Digital Design, Verification, and Layout. You'll be joining a dynamic environment within a growing company that's pioneering new frontiers in the industry!

Qualifications and training
  • Educated to Masters/PhD level in Electronics or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience), ideally with an emphasis on RF, analogue and mixed-signal design.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in chip-level and circuit-level architecture definition, and transistor level.
Essential Skills and experience
  • A track record of innovation in VLSI design and layout of analogue and mixed-signal circuits
  • Expert user of analog design tools (Cadence, Mentor, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience with SPICE, extracted and mixed-mode simulations and verification tools (Calibre)
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with internal and external partners
  • Strong report writing and technical presentation abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a team allwith minimal supervision.
  • A strong ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Mentoring junior engineers, or an interest in this area.
Desirable Skills and experience
  • RFID (NFC/UHF), TFT, metal oxide or organic design experience would be advantageous
  • Power management circuit such as LDO, linear regulator design experience would be advantageous
  • Strong scripting ability (Unix, Linux, Skill, pearl) would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of the digital flow, understanding theneeds and challenges of a digital team would be advantageous to interface efficiently with them
