European Tech Recruit are working closely with a leading semicon company, based in Cambridge, who are looking for a talented Staff CPU Design Engineer to join their team.

Your role will be to define and build hardware RTL designs for low-power and area efficiency, to write and review documentation, to provide planning, tracking and reporting in order to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of CPU IP.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on proficiency with System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL HDL for RTL design.
  • Expertise in synthesizable design that achieve area, frequency and power targets; ability to make judgements on functionality and performance trade-offs.
  • Track record of writing specifications and documentation describing complex designs.
  • Capacity to own all stages of a project, from start to completion: concept, specification, implementation and testing, support.
  • Proven technical and/or team leadership skills.
  • Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs.
  • Working knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
  • Mentoring team members.
  • Knowledge of scripting eg Python, Perl or unix shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of assembly language (preferably ARM), C/C++ and/or hardware verification languages e.g. SystemVerilog.
