Job summary

Xapien, a leading AI-driven due diligence platform, is looking for a Staff/Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team in the UK. You will own substantial parts of the platform’s architecture and tackle the most challenging technical problems, using Go, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and modern patterns.

You’ll design scalable backend services, drive cross-team engineering decisions, and mentor engineers while balancing technical excellence with pragmatic delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in Go, with mastery of concurrency and performance.
• Proven track record designing and owning large-scale systems.
• Strong experience with distributed/microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of databases like MongoDB and NoSQL.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.
• Ability to establish technical standards and patterns across teams.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and architecture for parts of our platform.
• Design and build complex backend services and systems that scale.
• Drive technical decisions affecting multiple teams.
• Establish patterns, standards, and best practices across the org.
