Job summary

Xe, Bracknell, Berkshire, is seeking a Senior Back-end Engineer to own end-to-end problems, shape API design, data modeling and service implementation. You will work on a modern stack to move money in production and lead cross-functional delivery with product, compliance, and operations.

You will design and modernize backend services, own production reliability, and mentor engineers while partnering with architects on cross-domain decisions.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10+ years building production backend services.
• Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET.
• SQL and relational databases fundamentals.
• Writing and maintaining tests.
• Daily use of agentic coding tools across the SDLC.
• Production experience with AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with service-oriented or microservices architectures.
• Technical leadership: mentoring engineers and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design and own backend services that move money across domains.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with product, compliance, and operations.
• Lead build of partner integrations and settlement infrastructure.
• Own production health, reliability, observability, and incident response.
• Lead design reviews and set technical direction for your domain.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and collaborate with architects.
