Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking Staff Engineers to drive backend platform work for banks worldwide. You will lead multiple complex projects from inception through run, acting as a technical leader and taking ownership of critical challenges.

Collaboration with clients, architects and product teams is essential to meet ambitious goals. You will contribute across systems and teams, shaping tooling, automation and architecture, while mentoring engineers and helping grow a high-performing engineering

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering changes to critical systems in a distributed environment.
• Highly proficient developer with a track record of technical and coding excellence.
• Experience coaching and mentoring team members to develop their careers.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple complex backend projects from inception to delivery.
• Provide technical leadership, with or without direct management responsibility.
• Own technical challenges critical to business success and drive innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, solution architects, product owners and engineers to meet goals.
• Shape Engine's future capabilities, tooling, automation and architecture.
