Job summary

Moody is seeking a Staff Software Engineer-AI to design, implement, and lead production-grade AI platforms in a cloud environment. You will own backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and AI inference workflows, guiding teams through design reviews and hands-on coding.

You will work across AWS/Azure/GCP, apply retrieval-augmented generation, and champion responsible AI governance while mentoring engineers and delivering high-impact AI solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with backend systems and cloud-native services.
• Expert-level coding in Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar with production code.
• Hands-on experience building enterprise AI apps using LLMs, RAG, prompts and orchestration.
• Ability to take AI solutions from prototype to production with scalable design.
• Expert knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and lead delivery of scalable AI platforms and intelligent applications in production.
• Hands-on leadership while designing, coding, reviewing, debugging, and improving production AI systems.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, data pipelines, inference pipelines and platform capabilities.
• Implement LLM apps with retrieval-augmented generation, prompt orchestration, evaluation, and tooling.
• Make technical decisions focusing on performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Establish best practices through reviews, testing, observability, and operations.
• Champion MLOps including model lifecycle, prompt versioning, deployment, monitoring.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, ML engineers, and stakeholders.
• Build reusable frameworks and tooling to accelerate AI development across teams.
• Evaluate new AI tech via prototypes and production-readiness assessments.
• Mentor engineers with coaching, pairing, reviews, and example-setting.
