Phorest Software is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – AI Enablement to help shape the future of AI across our product platforms. As a founding member, you’ll own high-leverage AI initiatives end-to-end, from discovery through production, with strong product judgment and technical depth.

You’ll work autonomously across teams, prototype AI-powered tools, establish patterns, and measure business impact. The role blends advanced engineering with strategic thinking, enabling scalable AI deployments

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing, building and operating complex production software.
• Strong practical AI experience including AI-powered products or production LLMs.
• Experience leading complex, high-impact technical initiatives across teams or functions.
• Strong architecture and fundamentals across APIs, integrations, cloud, security, scalability, observability and reliability.
• Strong product and commercial instincts with ambiguity.
• Strong strategic judgement balancing short-term experiments with long-term solutions.
• Ability to operate autonomously and influence without authority.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Growth mindset with mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Curiosity about AI and turning possibilities into improvements.

• Set the technical direction for AI Enablement and establish engineering patterns.
• Identify high-leverage opportunities with business functions and drive problem-to-outcome.
• Prototype and deliver AI-powered tools, agents, or automation with value-based decisions.

• Measure outcomes and justify investments with data.
• Create reusable capabilities and governance for future AI work.
• Mentor others and raise engineering capability across the org.
