Job summary

Newcastle Racecourse is seeking a Stable Manager to oversee maintenance, presentation and welfare of the racecourse stables. You will liaise with the Clerk of the Course on staffing and ensure high standard cleaning and compliant practices.

This role requires initiative, time management and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. A full driving licence is essential and you will support a busy racing calendar with weekend and late shifts.

Qualifications

• Excellent time management and attendance record.
• Flexible approach to working and ability to perform under pressure.
• Organised and able to work well under pressure.
• Good communication skills with staff and stakeholders.
• Enjoy outdoor working and be able to work in varying weather.
• Hold a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the Stables, Veterinary Treatment box and Sample area.
• Maintain correct documentation and registers.
• Manage the Stables ground and surrounding area.
• Oversee the Stables office and CCTV systems.
• Liaise with Hostel/Inn manager regards staff requirements.
• Ensure stables are cleaned to a high standard per BHA guidelines and ARC standards.
• Under direction of the Clerk of the Course, implement a maintenance programme for the course.
