Job summary

Hereford Racecourse is seeking a motivated Groundsperson to join our Grounds Team. You will help maintain the racecourse and estate to a high standard, ensuring excellent facilities for race days and events throughout the year.

The role involves outdoor work, operating machinery, and supporting the Clerk of the Course to deliver high-quality surfaces and presentation. A practical, hands-on approach and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Interest in grounds maintenance, horticulture, agriculture or outdoor work.
• Full clean driving licence is required.
• Hands-on approach with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with year-round maintenance and preparation of the racing surface.
• Preparing and reinstating the course before, during and after racing.
• Operating tractors, machinery, vehicles and all-weather maintenance equipment.
• Maintaining lawns, gardens and parade rings to a high standard, especially on race days.
