Job summary

St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School in Beckenham Hill seeks a passionate SENDCO to join our warm, supportive team and make a real difference to our pupils’ learning.

The role leads SEND provision, ensures compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, collaborates with the leadership team to develop SEND strategy, and monitors impact across the school. You’ll support inclusive teaching, coordinate interventions, and engage with parents and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or NPQSEN required.
• Experience coordinating SEND provision, preferably in a primary setting.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SEND provision across the school.

• Work closely with the Headteacher and leadership team to develop and implement SEND strategy.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision across the school.
• Support teachers in delivering high-quality inclusive classroom practice.
• Coordinate and review targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
• Deliver small-group interventions to support pupils with additional needs.
• Provide occasional cover teaching where required.
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate SEND records and oversee identification and assessment processes.
