Candour is seeking a Senior SQL Developer to own a critical SQL Server environment and drive design, development, and optimisation of database solutions. You will influence technical direction, improve performance, and mentor colleagues in a collaborative tech team.

The role focuses on high-volume transactional databases, SSIS ETL, and Azure SQL options, with a hybrid working pattern and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience.
• Strong T-SQL skills and SQL Server 2019+ experience.
• Experience designing relational databases and data models.
• Experience with ETL processes (SSIS or similar).
• Experience with performance tuning and execution plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server solutions.
• Develop and optimise complex T-SQL including procedures, functions, views and triggers.
• Troubleshoot performance issues including query tuning, blocking and deadlocks.
• Support security, backups, recovery and high availability solutions.

Senior SQL Developer I £55K I Hybrid

I am looking for an experienced Senior SQL Developer to take ownership of a critical SQL Server environment and play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising database solutions.

This is an opportunity for a strong SQL professional to influence technical direction, improve database performance, support business-critical systems, and mentor other developers. All the while, working within a collaborative technology team and playing a key role in improving SQL capability across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server database solutions

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning and execution plans
• Experience with SQL Server Agent, backups, disaster recovery, and security
• Exposure to Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance is desirable
