Job summary

Candour is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer to own a critical SQL Server environment, designing, developing and optimising database solutions. You will lead complex T-SQL work, optimise performance, and mentor junior developers in a collaborative tech team.

The role offers hybrid working with a flexible approach, a strong salary package (£40,000 - £50,000 per year is stated), and benefits including pension and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of MS SQL Server development experience.
• Strong T-SQL proficiency and SQL Server 2019+ experience.
• Experience designing relational databases and data models.
• Background working with high-volume transactional databases.
• Experience with ETL processes such as SSIS.
• Knowledge of SQL performance tuning and execution plans.
• Experience with SQL Server Agent, backups, disaster recovery, and security.
• Exposure to Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server database solutions.
• Develop and optimise complex T-SQL, including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues, including query optimisation, blocking, and deadlocks.
• Support database security, backups, recovery, and high availability solutions.
• We work with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers.
