Job summary

Accentuate Staffing is working with an insurance organization in the Raleigh, NC area that is hiring a Database Developer for its internal IT team. The role will support the organization’s SQL Server environment, BI reporting needs, and data integration activities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on SQL Server development experience across database development, reporting, ETL, and performance tuning, with ownership of assigned work, timely delivery, and clear communication with IT and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience developing with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft BI technologies, including SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, methodology, data architecture, and relational database design.
• Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and contribute as part of an IT team.
• Insurance industry experience is a plus; experience with XML, AS400, .NET, C#, Java, shell scripting, or object-oriented design is also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain T-SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and related database objects that support business rules and data processes.
• Develop and support SSIS packages, ETL processes, SQL Agent jobs, and other scheduled database workflows.
• Build and maintain SSRS reports and write ad hoc queries for business and IT needs.
• Design, update, and support relational database models and schemas.
• Tune query performance, troubleshoot database issues, and recommend improvements to existing processes and the overall platform.
• Follow IT best practices while collaborating with team members, team leads, and management to complete database and reporting work.
