Job summary

SystemsAccountants is seeking an experienced SQL & BI Operations Lead to own the day-to-day support, administration and reliability of a Microsoft SQL Server and BI environment.

You will be hands-on, resolve complex user issues, optimise queries, manage ETL jobs and maintain data models, with Power BI and Fabric as core technologies.

The role requires 5+ years in SQL/BI support, strong problem solving, documentation discipline, and collaboration with IT, Finance and Data teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in SQL Server/DBA/Data Platform support.
• Strong SQL skills: queries, stored procedures, functions and views.
• Experience with SSAS, SSIS and SSRS.
• Strong Power BI knowledge (Desktop and Service).
• Knowledge of DAX, MDX and Power Query / M.
• Experience with SQL Server Agent and scheduled jobs.
• Experience with data modelling and ETL pipelines.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and related data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical SME for the SQL and BI environment.
• Ensure uptime and performance of SQL databases.
• Manage and resolve escalated user issues and tickets.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS and Power BI issues.
• Support SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and views.
• Investigate performance issues and optimise queries.
• Maintain scheduled jobs and ETL processes.
• Support data models and reporting solutions.
• Ensure data is centralised and accessible across sources.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation and support records.
• Keep users informed on progress and actions.
• Occasional out-of-hours work for critical incidents.
