Job summary

Away Resorts Ltd. at Piperdam Leisure Resort in Scotland is seeking a Sports & Leisure Team Leader to supervise the leisure centre, drive sales, and deliver outstanding guest experiences. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service within a vibrant resort environment.

You will lead a team, maintain high standards, ensure safety protocols, and contribute to creating memorable holidays for our guests while supporting park operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Holds a current NPLQ and a First Aid at Work certificate with COSHH experience.
• GCSE standard education or equivalent.
• Works well under pressure and communicates effectively.
• Attention to detail and high standards.

Responsibilities

• Actively market and promote the business to increase sales and improve customer service.
• Supervise, train, and motivate the team for efficient operation of the leisure centre.
• Maintain the highest service levels and safety within the centre.
• Oversee security, cleanliness, maintenance, plant operation, water quality testing, and stock replenishment.
• Process financial transactions, cash reconciliation, and bookings in line with regulations.
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the centre.
• Monitor the safety and welfare of customers and staff.

Location: Piperdam Leisure Resort, Dundee, DD2 5LP, Nr Birkhill

Salary: £21,965 per year

Hours of Work: 32 hours a week

You'll play a key role in supervising, controlling, and ensuring the safety of our customers while delivering the highest standard of customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sports & Leisure Team Leader, you'll assist in operating the leisure centre to achieve maximum sales while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

• Actively market and promote the business, seeking opportunities to increase sales and improve customer service.
• Supervise, train, and motivate the team to ensure efficient and effective operation of the centre.
• Maintain and develop the highest levels of service and safety within the leisure centre.
• Oversee the security of facilities, cleanliness, maintenance, plant operation, water quality testing, and stock replenishment.
• Process financial transactions, cash reconciliation, and accept bookings in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the centre.
• Monitor and maintain the safety and welfare of customers and staff.

Skills, Experience, and Qualities You’ll Need

We’ll provide training, but you must have:

• Hold a current valid NPLQ and a First Aid at Work certificate as well as experience in backwashing and experience of COSHH
• A good standard of education, ideally to GCSE standard or equivalent
• Works well under pressure and a good communicator too
• Attention to detail even little ones and high standards
• Pool Plant Operator (PPO), National Pool Management Qualification (NPMQ) or equivalent, Fire Warden training
