Job summary

Potters Resorts – Five Lakes is seeking an energetic Leisure Club Assistant to deliver friendly guest service and support daily Leisure Club operations, including pool and gym facilities.

The role requires 32–40 hours per week over 5 days, including weekends and bank holidays. Full UK driving licence and own vehicle are needed due to rural location. Training is provided, with opportunities for personal development and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a face-to-face customer service role, ideally within a leisure, fitness, or hospitality environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with guests.
• A proactive and positive approach, with a willingness to go above and beyond.
• A flexible attitude, with a willingness to support cleaning duties and maintain high standards across the Leisure Club.
• The ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient in a busy environment.
• A strong team ethic, alongside the confidence to work independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly service to guests at all times.
• Understand day-to-day operations of a Leisure Club including Pool & Gym.
• Support Leisure Supervisor delivering exceptional service and leading the team.
• Carry out audits and quality checks on Leisure Club, Gym, and Swimming Pool facilities.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards on poolside, changing rooms, and spectator areas.
• Ensure safety by adhering to health and safety standards and securing equipment and plant rooms.

Job Description

About the Leisure Club Assistant role;

• To provide a friendly service to our guests at all times
• To have a robust understanding of the day-to-day operation of a Leisure Club including; Pool & Gym.
• To support the Leisure Supervisor delivering exceptional customer service, building a rapport with our resident Guests, and leading and motivating the Leisure team with the delivery of our 5 star service standards
• Ensuring that attention to detail reflects our professionalism; you will be expected to carry out regular audits and quality checks on all Leisure Club, Gym, and Swimming Pool facilities, addressing any shortfalls and ensuring that our 5star operational standards are maintained at all times
• Ensuring that cleanliness is kept to the highest standards on poolside, changing rooms, sports and leisure facilities, gym and spectator areas.
• Ensure the safety of all guests and team members by supporting the compliance and delivery of all company health and safety standards and systems, meeting all legal obligations as well as ensuring the security of equipment, chemicals and plant rooms

Customer service experience is essential to be considered for this role.

Hours of work:

• Leisure Club is open from 7.45 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
• You will work 32 - 40hours per week over 5 days to include weekends and bank holidays.
• Shifts will be worked between 10.30am - 7.30pm (usually a combination of 10.30am - 7pm or 3pm - 7pm)

** Rates of pay - Based upon age:

£12.71 per hr - Over 21

£10.85 per hour – 18 - 20

*Due to our rural location, the successful candidate will have a full UK driving licence together with their own vehicle as you will be unable to reach us using public transport
