Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Sports Graduate – Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH, ASC and ADHD in secondary schools and SEND provisions. Working with teachers and pastoral teams, you will build positive relationships, encourage engagement and promote constructive behaviour inside and outside the classroom.

This role offers flexible hours (full time or part time during term time) from 8:30am to 3:30pm and provides valuable classroom experience to help you progress towards a

  • A degree in Sports, Sports Coaching, Physical Education or a related subject.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A resilient, patient and proactive approach.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to provide two recent references.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils who require additional behavioural support.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to encourage engagement and positive behaviour.
  • Support pupils with SEMH, ASC, ADHD and other additional needs.
  • Promote emotional regulation, resilience and confidence through positive role modelling.
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support strategies.
  • Support pupils during lessons, social times and transition periods throughout the school day.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork and self-esteem through structured activities.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.

Responsibilities

Are you a Sports graduate looking to use your passion, resilience and leadership skills to support young people in education?


Do you want to gain valuable classroom experience while making a real difference to the lives of pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support?


We are currently seeking a dedicated Sports Graduate – Behaviour Mentor to work within secondary schools and specialist SEND provisions. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD and other additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.


Working alongside teachers, SEND professionals and pastoral teams, you'll build positive relationships with pupils, encourage engagement in learning and promote positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.


8:30am – 3:30pm, Full Time or Part Time
