Job summary

Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting a Sports Development Officer for Belfast City Council's Leisure Development team. The role involves developing and promoting sport and physical activity across the city, creating inclusive opportunities for participation.

Responsibilities include delivering the council's strategy, advising clubs, building partnerships, organising events, and assessing funding. Driving licence and suitable qualifications are required; starting date is immediate.

Qualifications

• A full, current driving licence valid in Northern Ireland and a car available for work.
• Either: a third-level qualification in leisure management, business studies or similar, or full membership of ISRM or CIMSPA, with at least 1 year's experience in each of the areas below, or at least 2 years' experience in each of these areas: advising and supporting clubs and community organisations on sports development; developing sporting partnerships; sourcing, securing and managing funding for sport.
• Strong communication, report-writing and partnership working skills
• Good budget management and organisational skills

• Advise and support clubs and community organisations on structures, governance, facilities and funding
• Build partnerships to increase participation, particularly among under-represented groups
• Organise and promote club activities, competitions, workshops and events across the city
• Seek and develop partnerships with funding organisations
• Assess grant and funding applications and make recommendations
• Monitor the Sports Development Programme budget and report on performance to elected members and management
• Create new and innovative programmes to increase participation in sport and physical activity

Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting an experienced Sports Development Officer to join Belfast City Council's Leisure Development team. You'll help develop and promote sport and physical activity across the city, creating opportunities for everyone to get involved.

What you’ll be doing:

• Helping develop and deliver the council's Physical Activity and Sports Development Strategy
• Advising and supporting clubs and community organisations on structures, governance, facilities and funding
