ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and energetic Sports Coach for a school in Wythenshawe. The role involves delivering PE and coaching sessions in the gym, and taking students to sports activities such as boxing and trampolining.

You should be confident in implementing the school sport programme to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles, serving as a positive role model for pupils who may be disengaged from studies.

The school caters to secondary students with various needs, including those with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges like ADHD.

This position is open to experienced individuals with a strong background in delivering and mentoring sports to children and young adults. Depending on performance, there may be opportunities to extend the contract or offer a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience delivering sports sessions
  • GCSE Maths and English and computer literate
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued within the last year)
  • Team Teach qualification or willingness to attend training via our agency
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
  • Two professional child-related references covering the last two years
