Cover People is seeking a proactive Sports Coach / TA for a Wigan area secondary alternative provision. The role involves supporting KS3/KS4 in PE and classroom settings to boost activity, engagement and wellbeing.
You will assist with lessons, manage behaviour and help students develop confidence through sport, with potential cross-lesson support as needed.
Sports Coach / TA in a large yet welcoming & supportive secondary Alternative Education Provision in the Wigan area.
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Rate: £100-£115 (depending on experience, paid PAYE).
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.

As a Sports Assistant / Teaching Assistant, you'll support students in both KS3 and KS4 in PE lessons, small groups, and one-to-one settings to encourage physical activity, engagement, and wellbeing. You'll assist with classroom tasks, promote positive behaviour, and help build confidence through sport and personalised support. You may be asked to support in other lessons as and when required.
We're looking for someone passionate about sport and education, with experience supporting young people both in PE and classroom settings. Patience, empathy, and adaptability are key, along with a commitment to helping students develop physically and academically.
