Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a proactive Learning Support Assistant with a passion for sport in South Shields. You will work across the school day to support pupils with lessons, manage behaviour and help them gain confidence through sport.

Immediate start available. DBS checks are advantageous. Experience in coaching or youth work is welcomed, and the role suits those with a strong sporting background who enjoy working with young people.

Sports Learning Support Assistant | South Shields

Location: South Shields
Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours
Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience

Protocol Education are looking for an energetic Learning Support Assistant with a passion for sport to work within a specialist school setting in South Shields.

This role would suit someone from a football, rugby, boxing, athletics, fitness, PE, coaching or youth work background who enjoys motivating young people and building positive relationships.

You won't just be supporting pupils during PE. You'll be involved throughout the school day, helping pupils engage with lessons, manage behaviour and develop confidence.

The Role

You could be:

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Supporting learning across the curriculum
• Using sport and shared interests to build relationships
• Encouraging pupils to participate and stay engaged
• Supporting positive behaviour
• Helping pupils develop confidence and resilience
• Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime
• Assisting with PE and physical activities
• Acting as a positive role model
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs

You don't necessarily need previous TA experience.
