Job description

Monarch Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join a specialist school in Wheatley, Oxfordshire. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and physical disabilities.

Key Details:

  • Location: Wheatley, Oxfordshire
  • Position Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Pay: £444.60 to £529.45 per week (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible
Role Overview:

You will work closely with a pupil who requires tailored support throughout the school day. The role combines elements of sports coaching, behaviour management, and personal support, helping the child engage with physical activity and learning in a safe and structured environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging sports and physical activities adapted to the pupil's needs
  • Provide consistent 1:1 support across the school day
  • Assist with personal care and mobility where required
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN specialists
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a coaching or SEN setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt activities to suit individual needs
  • A proactive and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs
Desirable:
  • Sports Coaching qualifications
  • Experience supporting children with ASD or physical disabilities
  • Behaviour management training (e.g. Team Teach)
