Opportunity for Sports Coaches Transitioning into Education

Vision for Education is seeking qualified Sports Coaches interested in leveraging their skills and experiences to transition into teaching or support roles within schools. These skills are highly applicable to our Cover Teacher position.

Role of a Cover Teacher

1. Lead lessons for approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher.
2. Cover a range of secondary school subjects, with lesson plans provided in advance—no subject specialization required.
3. Facilitate learning, manage classroom behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide handovers to absent teachers.

Successful Cover Teachers are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, organized, passionate about education, and committed to supporting young people.

Training and Experience

This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain secondary school experience before applying for Initial Teacher Training. Previous secondary school experience is desirable but not essential.
