Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a Sporty background to support pupils aged 11-16 in a central Birmingham SEND setting. You will help develop confidence, teamwork and communication through sport-based learning and adapt activities to meet individual needs.

The role involves working closely with teachers, therapists and parents to promote inclusive, safe and engaging lessons, both indoors and outdoors, and to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
• Sport background; able to use movement to aid learning and wellbeing.
• DBS check and suitable references are required.

Responsibilities

• Use sport and movement to develop confidence, teamwork and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt activities to individual learning needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and active participation.
• Support pupils with sensory, behavioural, and communication needs in classroom and outdoor settings.
• Work with staff, therapists and parents to monitor pupil progress.
