Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant (Sports Coach) for a South Shields SEND school. This full-time, long-term position supports pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation while offering ongoing professional development.

You will join an experienced team in a nurturing environment focused on restoring confidence and preparing pupils for adulthood and employment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and/or SEND.
• A strong commitment to helping young people make progress.
• The ability to work effectively within a team.
• Confidence in managing fast-paced and challenging situations.
• A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) to support a quick start.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in groups across the full curriculum.
• Assist engagement in learning and promote emotional regulation.
• Support behaviour management and safety.
• Collaborate with a supportive, experienced team to promote wellbeing and professional development.
