Job summary

Libertatem is seeking a Spinal Injury Support Worker in Canterbury. This is a zero-hour contract with shifts 8am–8pm, 7 days a week, offering £16.53 per hour on weekdays and £17.36 per hour on weekend days.

The role involves assisting with personal care, catheter and bowel management, meals, and assisting with cough assist and nebulisers. Training is provided, and experience with spinal injury care is essential to help the client maintain independence and dignity in daily living.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting clients with high level spinal cord injury and complex needs.
• Experience with catheter care, bowel management, and knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia.
• Caring, compassionate, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management)
• Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
• Administering medication and supporting with cough assist and nebulisers (training provided)
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Supporting with moving and handling
