Job summary

Libertatem Healthcare Group in Canterbury is seeking a Spinal Injury Support Worker on a zero-hour contract. The role involves intimate activities of daily living support, catheter and bowel management, and monitoring for autonomic dysreflexia.

Training is provided for medical tasks, with shifts across weekdays and weekends. The client is a male in his late 50s with a spinal injury; successful candidates will need a compassionate, patient-focused approach and experience with spinal injury care.

About The Role

Spinal Injury Support Worker

Location: Canterbury
Salary: £16.53 per hour weekdays, £17.36 per hour weekend days.
Job Type: Zero-hour contract
Shifts: 8am-8pm, 7 days per week

Full time/part time hours available.

Role Overview:
We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Canterbury, working on a 2:1 ratio. Our client is a male in his late 50’s with a Spinal Injury following a road traffic accident.

He has a catheter and requires daily support with bowel management, cough assist and nebulisers, plus monitoring for signs of autonomic dysreflexia. To support his independence, we’re seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship, with previous Spinal Injury experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management)

• Supporting with moving and handling

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with high level spinal cord injury with complex needs.
• Experience with catheter care, bowel management and/or knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia.
• A caring and compassionate nature
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
