Job summary

OneCall24 Healthcare is seeking a Compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support a male client in a 24-hour complex care package at his home in Sidmouth, Devon. You will perform ADLs, personal care, mobility assistance, and medication support, in a setting requiring vigilance for autonomic dysreflexia and spinal injury-related needs.

The role demands experienced carers who can work across days and nights, with a focus on safety, professionalism, and high-quality care within a home environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex spinal injury care.
• Ability to recognise autonomic dysreflexia and manage it.
• Medication administration and clinical observations.
• Support with all personal care and ADLs.
• Bespoke moving and handling techniques beneficial.
• Bowel care including catheter care and related needs.
• Nutrition and hydration support and careful monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide full support with all ADLs, including personal care.
• Administer medications and monitor client health and observations.
• Assist with mobility and moving and handling as required.
• Support bowel care, catheter care and related needs.
• Provide nutrition and hydration support and monitor intake.
• Remain calm and professional while recognising clinical concerns.
• Work independently within the client’s home environment.
