Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a newly qualified or early career Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult SLT service in Buckinghamshire. The role combines inpatient stroke care at Wycombe Hospital with the community SLT service, offering broad clinical exposure and regular supervision.

You will work three days per week with the inpatient stroke team and two days per week in patients’ homes, care homes, and outpatient settings, developing skills in dysphagia,

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree.
• HCPC registration or pending registration.
• Registered member of RCSLT, or eligible for membership.
• Relevant adult clinical placement experience including assessment and management of communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Awareness of stroke and neurological conditions in inpatient and community settings.
• Willingness to travel across Buckinghamshire for cross-site work and home visits.

Responsibilities

• Work three days per week with inpatient stroke team.
• Two days per week with community SLT team.
• Manage a defined caseload with autonomy appropriate to Band 5.
• Provide assessment and intervention in patients' homes, care homes and outpatient settings.
• Receive regular supervision and contribute to planning and discharge.
