Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to support pupils with speech, language and communication needs in Ashington. You will work alongside teachers and specialists to help learners access learning, express themselves and participate in lessons.

This role offers ongoing professional development, a dedicated local consultant and opportunities for long-term work. Previous education experience is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Patient, attentive and able to communicate clearly with learners.
• Willing to adapt approach to meet diverse needs of pupils.
• Experience in education or SEND is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
• Assist with targeted communication activities during lessons.
• Encourage learners to express themselves confidently.
• Adapt resources and instructions where appropriate.
• Support communication during lessons and social activities.
• Work closely with teachers and specialists to monitor progress.
• Create an inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued.
